Gideon Koppel

Having originally studied mathematics, Gideon Koppel was a postgraduate student at the Slade School of Fine Art working with mixed media. His prolific work as a film maker is exhibited in a wide variety of formats: from the film installation for fashion label Comme des Garcons seen at the Florence Biennale... to the acclaimed documentary series ‘Undressed: a history of 20th Century Fashion’ for Channel 4. More recently he made the controversial 'Ooh la la and the art of dressing up' for BBC which explores the psychopathology of celebrity. Gideon is an award-winning director of film commercials; a Professor at the University of London and teaches with Theodore Zeldin at HEC, Paris.

Gideon Koppel has just completed his first feature-length film 'sleep furiously' - collaborating with the cult musician/composer Aphex Twin, writer Peter Handke and Executive Producers Mike Figgis and Serge Lalou.
